Zoo Marketing and Public Relations Specialist

One of Northeast Ohio's premier attractions is seeking candidates for Zoo Marketing & Public Relations Specialist to plan, develop and coordinate communication projects for Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Essential functions:
Serves as project leader for certain Zoo-generated special events and promotions
Manages all Zoo Marketing & PR graphic communication/print collateral working collaboratively with Cleveland Metroparks' Visual Communications Division and outside vendors
Manages the Zoo's brand in the coordination and creation of internal and external marketing materials and promotional items including the Zoo's media kit
Contributes to overall marketing and public relations activities of the Division including weekly news releases, articles, media relations, & crisis communication initiatives
Solicits and assists with media participation/interest in Zoo events and programs including live radio and television broadcasts, on-air promotions, print stories and interviews
Acts as Zoo spokesperson for designated events and outside organizations, and conducts tours when necessary
Supervises, trains and directs work tasks of seasonal marketing employees, interns and volunteers.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism. Minimum of three years experience in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism or related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems and meet deadlines. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license

Salary: $38,994 - $48,742/year.
