The Web Developer works closely with the business to meet their requirements. They design and implement solutions related to E-commerce and marketing initiatives and follow the documentation and development process used by the IT department. The developer is a member of the technical IT staff and the team maintaining website applications used for E-commerce and marketing purposes. As such they are skilled in using resources both inside and outside of the company to accomplish objectives. With the technical acumen that the individual brings to the position, they work to ensure that this application system is meeting all requirements of the internal and external customers. The individual in this role is capable of dealing with very complex software development, configuration and maintenance issues in order to achieve a negotiated level of service for the business and customers. Responsibilities: - Plan installation of upgrades and maintenance activities related to the websites
- Design, develop and implement functionality in concert with team members
- Participate in managing the web Servers and related hardware
- Ensure that adequate information regarding maintenance, installations, and issues are communicated properly
- Provide point of contact for business to request analysis and resolution of issues as required
- Ensure twenty-four hour availability and stability of websites by maintaining communication via mobile device on a rotating basis
This position requires a flexible, highly motivated individual who has extensive real world experience in the following areas: - 3+ years developing E-commerce websites that rely on integration with a host ERP, CRM, or Back Office system
- HTML, Javascript, DHTML, and CSS
- Object Oriented Design and development
- 3+ years with relational database design and SQL development including stored procedures and DTS packages
- Preference given to those with web service development experience
- Excellent coding practices (documentation, source code management, unit testing, etc.)
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, work within a team environment, and multi-task
