Scope: Information Technology team member accountable for enterprise server operations.

Position Responsibilities: As a member of the Enterprise Server Team ensure company Servers are secure and available. This will be accomplished through proactive administration, monitoring and support of all Servers, 100+, and relevant supporting infrastructure; including but not limited to Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, VMware ESX vSphere, SAN and NAS technologies, server hardware, the data center including associated environmental and security requirements. This position will effectively manage the system backup process and contribute directly to a DRP strategy. Must stay knowledgeable about current Microsoft based server technologies; and stay abreast of industry best practices in security techniques and methodologies. Deliver highly available systems that balance security with business needs. Provide guidance and consultation for server related questions. Participate in off-hour support services as needed. This position will be a key contributor: In administering enterprise-wide backups (daily administration, management, documentation, strategy, etc.); performing site migrations (Servers, applications, users, printers, data, etc.); and will be the primary liaison between the server team and the help desk.
Requirements and Qualifications Server support experience including RAID disk storage systems, backup tape libraries with Veritas Backup Exec and BakBone NetVault, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Terminal Server, Citrix, Active Directory 2003, System Patching, HP Server and Blade Technologies. NetApp SAN experience preferred. Experience with the integration of systems acquired via acquisition: Migrations, trusts, group policies and additional administration in a multiple domain environment In-depth technical knowledge of operations and security. Experience with virtualized Servers utilizing VMware ESX vSphere and Virtual Center implementations; and virtualized DRP solutions. Background with SAN and replication technologies. Experience with Microsoft Exchange administration and knowledge of email archiving using Symantec Enterprise Vault. Experience with Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager and Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007. Experience with supporting and enforcing data retention policies preferred. Stay knowledgeable of best practices on installed products and integrate into environment as appropriate. High degree of self-motivation and attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and electronic) and the ability to follow through until task or project completion. Ability to lead project or other small teams. Knowledgeable in maintaining data center facilities. Experience creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation. Ability to work in a result oriented, team environment. Capable of supporting multiple problems/tasks simultaneously. Large company experience preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in server administration. |
