Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance to join our Facilities Maintenance department located at our Bedford, OH facility.

As a Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance, you would be responsible to supervise and plan maintenance repair work, preventative maintenance, alterations, remodeling, minor construction, and checkout installation and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems. Make recommendations such as selection, training, promotion, discipline, and termination of staff and directs the grievances of employees to the Facility Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee facility and interact with all building utilities including fire system, heating/cooling, and building grounds.
  • Prioritizes to efficiently plan work schedules for maintenance staff and daily job assignments of all facility maintenance employees.
  • May order needed materials, supplies, and parts. Will implement the use of outside specialty contractors as circumstances indicate.
  • Participates in the development and applications of standards of quality and productivity. Supervises personnel in the use of policies, procedures, and standards of work performance.
  • Develops and participates in the continuing education and training of departmental staff and instructs personnel regarding hazards and safety practices.
  • Responsible for maintaining repair and replacement records primarily through a Computer Maintenance Management System. Provides input regarding projected costs and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate staff with regard to building emergency situations, production personnel and provide direction when warranted.
  • The employee may occasionally operate a forklift truck.
  • Also responsible to coordinate projects and contractors a well as daily operational issues with production and associated staff.
