Sr./Principal Electrical Engineer: Industrial Automation

Our NAFTA Engineering Technologies group has an opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer with proven and demonstrable success in concept, design, programming, and debugging of electrical/electronic high technology automated control systems. This includes, but not limited to, machine controllers, servo drives, vision systems, robotics and operator interfaces. These systems are used to control equipment used to manufacture both traditional and solid state (LED) lighting products.

Other functions include:
* Directly participate in establishing and leading functional projects and may develop and administer schedules and performance standards.
* Prepare comprehensive documented observations, including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses, engineering test reports and other reports as required.
*Work with external vendors, internal quality and supply chain groups to identify sources and quality control criteria for the supply and manufacture of parts used in production.
* Work with all of OSRAM SYLVANIAs engineering groups and provide customer support of new and existing equipment designs.
* Work closely with our experienced electrical and mechanical design teams to develop "state of the art" best in class equipment.

Requirements:

Candidate will have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years relevant experience, or a M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience, or Ph.D entry level with post-doc or other relevant experience.

REQUIREMENTS
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Domestic and international travel is expected
Siemens/Allen Bradley PLC software experience strongly preferred.
*Skills using CAD tools, Microsoft Suite of software.
*Programming experience with C, C++, Visual Basic, motion control languages, a plus.
