Solutions Architect - Corporate Applications

The Solutions Architect is responsible for understanding current SAP application capabilities, capacities, and evaluating the technical and business impact and value of future releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for ensuring the completeness of the architecture, in terms of adequately addressing all the pertinent concerns of its stakeholders and for the integrity of the architecture in terms of connecting all the various views to each other, reconciling the conflicting concerns of different stakeholders and showing tradeoffs made in doing so.
* The architect is responsible for assuring that design decisions are not circumvented for tactical convenience.
* The architect produces documentation around design decisions for application development teams to execute.
* The architect is involved in the entire process; beginning with working with customers to understanding real needs, as opposed to wants, and then throughout the process to translate those needs into capabilities verified to meet the needs.
* Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs
* Gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input/output requirements to design application systems to perform well logically and physically
* Research and evaluate software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms
The architect is responsible for presenting different models to the customer that communicate how those needs may be met and is therefore an essential participant in the consulting process.
* Consult with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications to meet needs
* Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about applications

EXPERIENCE
*Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a related discipline, such as Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or Business. Masters degree in relevant discipline is preferred.
* Five to seven years of experience in IT with application systems; a minimum of two years in application systems design
* Minimum of 4 years SAP HCM/Payroll and Finance experience
* In-depth experience designing and implementing applications
Certifications
* None required, TOGAF or other IT Architect certifications highly desired. Other IT industry certifications (ITIL, PMP, CISA, etc.) are a plus

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
* Over arching understanding of all SAP technologies, including ITS, Web Application Server, Netweaver Portal, PI, and other rapidly evolving technologies.
* Able to understand Dana's vision for technology, actively contribute, and provide guidance and input into its ongoing evolution.
* SAP R/3 Technology liaison to other ERP teams within Dana and Dana business organizations
* Understanding of how data is sourced from Legacy systems
* Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the application team's knowledge of and concern for customer requirements
* Proficiency with the following Technologies/Tools: Eclipse, Java, Swing, XML, JavaScript, Struts, Hibernate, JSP Tags, UML Modeling, Use Case Writing, Layered Architectures, HTML, JDK, Apache Tomcat,
* Proficiency with the following databases: Oracle 9i, 10G; DB2
* Proficiency with the following environments: Windows XP, Windows 7, UNIX/Linux
* Ability to read process flows developed using BPMN
* Experience using IT Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, etc
* SFIA v4 skill IDs most applicable include but are not limited to GOVN, IRMG, ISCO, DPRO, SCTY, INAS, CNSL, TECH, STPL
