Software Engineer	Contract/Permanent

POSITION DESCRIPTION Work as part of an agile software development team to implement all phases of enterprise-level web based software applications Design, develop, test, and deliver .NET web applications using Visual Studio .NET 2008 and 2010, and SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Develop hot fixes and support for .NET (3.x and 4.x) web applications and Legacy ASP/JavaScript web applications utilizing C++ and VB COM+ objects Support quality improvement of software by engaging in rigorous unit testing of all developed code, participating in peer review of own and others' code Write engineering documentation for features developed in all assigned projects Provide assistance to R&D and large custom delivery development projects that need additional resources RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field 5-8 years experience in software engineering 3-5 years experience developing N-tier web applications/web services utilizing Microsoft .NET v2.0 through v4.0 written in VB and C# 2-4 years experience troubleshooting 3-tier web applications utilizing ASP/COM+ written in VC and VB 3-5 years experience in database design, database programming, and stored procedure development and maintenance using SQL Server 2000-2008 2-5 years experience working with web-services, XML, XSL, and SOAP 1-2 years experience working in an agile environment, preferably knowledge of SCRUM practices 1-2 years of experience with AJAX and Silverlight client-side application development and XAML-based interfaces Software Engineers need to excel in teamwork, critical thinking, adaptability, analysis/problem assessment, initiative, and planning & organizing. A detailed understanding of distributed architectures and data-driven web sites is a critical success factor for the position, as well as a working knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures. Preferred 2-4 years experience working with MS Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server for source control and bug tracking Experience in HR technology or HR-XML 2-5 years of experience coding in C++
