Senior Technical Trainer - Occupational Health & Safety-26136 Description The Senior Technical Trainer - Occupational Health & Safety uses instructional development models such as SAT (System Approach to Training) or ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implement and Evaluate) to create Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training programs. Training subject-matter areas include, but not limited to: Bloodborne Pathogens Hazard Communication HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations) Initial and Refresher Chemical Hygiene New Hire Safety Orientation Radiation, MRI and Laser Safety Physical Hazards Safety Confined Space Entry and Rescue Work at Height and Rescue Power Industrial Truck Operations (PIT) Electrical Safety Construction Safety Ergonomics Permit Issuing First Aid/CPR Applies adult learning principles to create and deliver interactive and learner centric safety training courses. Develops training materials including audiovisual components, participant handouts, job aids, instructor guides, evaluations, and other references or resources. Also, partners with manager, peers and stakeholders in the design and development of safety training courses. Performs administrative duties associated with training delivery. This includes training preparation, scheduling and maintaining trainee records (test scores, evaluations and attendance), curriculum related activities in corporate Learning Management System, and post-training follow-up activities (evaluations and on-the-job observations). Travels locally to Genzyme facilities in Massachusetts to deliver classroom and hands-on training sessions. Able to transport, demonstrate and use various safety equipment including but not limited to SCBA, air purifying respirators, air monitoring devises, and personal protective equipment including chemical protective suits, boots, and gloves. Represents Occupational Health and Safety Training Team as a contact for training on projects and initiatives with manufacturing and operations stakeholders. Interacts with Site Safety Professionals and organizational stakeholders on strategic and programmatic initiatives requiring coordination between organizations for the design, development and delivery of required safety training.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of experience delivering OH&S training and/or administrating OH&S programs, Minimum 6 - 9 years of experience in the field of safety or related areas. Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in a related field of study. Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking/instruction skills. Excellent working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with E-learning concepts, authoring tools and delivery mechanisms. Solid computer skills - Microsoft Office products. Industry Certifications such as: Certified Instructional Technologist (CIT), Certified Environmental Trainer (CET), Certified Technical Trainer Plus (CTT+) or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).
