The upfront workload and timeline for this project is intense due to the need to complete the work within the 2011 timeframe. The overall design has been completed and the software components and interfaces have been defined and mostly coded. Such that the person in this position must have expert knowledge of PL/SQL, along with substantial experience participating in the development of large cross-platform applications, to focus on the job of generating the code to the specified timelines and quickly correcting PL/SQL errors. Will be expected to participate in a full functional project team to meet the tight deadlines with the use of Unit Testing and code reviews to ensure that the interfaces are held to specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize, coordinate and facilitate the development of scheduled software components
• Develop and consistently run Unit Testing on changed software components
• Management of Code Reviews
• Correction of defects as they are found
• Regular status reporting
• Correction of Specification as documentation defects are found
  

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• 8+ years development experience
• 3+ years experience with programming web based applications
• Expert development experience with Oracle PL/SQL
• Understands data models (packages, functions and stored procedures)
• Experience working from specifications and holding to a solid change process
• Experience in coding unit testing for software components
• Experience in code review processes and enforcement
• Understanding how to translate business rules to well defined and documented development artifacts
• IT experience working in large complex private or public sector organizations
  

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Cross platform integration tools for the IBM Mainframe platform include MQSeries, WebCICS and Micro Focus
• Experience correcting defects in SQL Programs discovered by Testing
• Experience with coding to specifications
• Experience with government agency programs
• Experience with systems engineering activities
