Job Description Position Summary: Serve as a key member of the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems financial planning and analysis team. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide timely and accurate analytical, planning, reporting, and financial systems support to drive company wide performance and achieve business goals and objectives. Key role in supporting the central financial staff, Product Business Team financial staffs, and other functional business groups. Essential Functions: - Analyze month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close results.
- Conduct variance analyses and research and provide detailed variance explanations between actual results, budget, forecasts and prior period results.
- Prepare financial reporting packages & presentations for internal management reviews and submission to corporate HQ.
- Perform significant role in driving, developing and consolidating assigned areas of responsibility within the mid-term operating plan (MOP) process and the periodic financial forecast process.
- Provide for quick response of ad-hoc data and analysis requests from business leaders and corporate HQ.
- Provide financial leadership and Product Business Team support to identify and quantify inflation, price and productivity impacts on financial results.
- Manage special projects to improve processes, efficiency and department performance.
- Build effective working relationships within the FP&A team, central finance staff, and Product Business Team financial staffs.
- Develop expertise in use of FP&A financial systems and recommend user improvements, new or modified report capabilities, and unused features & functionality to improve department productivity.
- Support activities to ensure that FP&A financial systems are maintained and functioning in order to meet the needs of the business on a daily basis.
- Support and assist in troubleshooting system problems and in performing data and system tests.
- Prepare foreign currency transactions analysis and its impact on financial results
- Cross train as back-ups with other team staff in case of emergencies
