We are looking for a Senior Engineer for our Watertown, NY facility.

This position will:

  • Provide multi-disciplinary engineering for continuous improvement of fielded CCB Locomotive Brake Control Systems
  • Identify and correct issues affecting product reliability.
  • Actively participate in CCB Failure Review Board to identify failure trends.
  • Initiate and lead projects multi-disciplinary teams to find root cause and corrective action for identified issues.
  • Travel to field locations as required to investigate issues.
  • Use Six-sigma and other statistical methods to identify the root cause and to validate the corrective action.
  • Generate new designs and design improvements as needed to keep products current and competitive.
  • Execute detail design of new products from concept to customer delivery, meeting performance and manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary activities related to the realization of new designs as well as sustaining activities on existing designs, including, but not limited to, support of quality audits/investigations, purchasing and commodity team support, coordination planning/purchasing and prototyping and production support.
  • Identify test requirements and prepare test requests for new and improved products.
  • Validate new and improved products; define test and validation plan, assist test department in set-up and execution of tests as necessary.
  • Approve test reports.
Required Skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills and strong design and analysis problem solving skills required.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality practices required.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required.
  • Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation desired.
