Securities Settlement Specialist  

Contract
As a Securities Settlement Specialist you will monitor, analyze, and process transactions via the company's proprietary systems.

Duties include:
  • Facilitate the accurate and timely settlement of domestic money market and mutual fund transactions
  • Identify trade discrepancies and mitigate the risks related to the trade life cycle
  • Manage complex operational and settlement problems independent of immediate supervision
  • Perform a daily reconciliation of positions
  • Create and maintain daily and monthly activity reports
  • Daily interaction with the Middle Office, counterparties, traders, corresponding banks, and immediate supervisors
  • Master the complexities of mutual funds settlements as well as gain a solid understanding of the business model and infrastructure
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the person in this role is expected to be able to exercise independent decision making skills to mitigate operational risks associated with securities settlement. The candidate must have a control, detail and efficiency orientation. The candidate is required to review processes and system operations to make recommendations for improvements and system enhancements. This person must be able to analyze complex and ambiguous issues and recommend creative solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Mutual funds experience required
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Mutual funds settlement experience is preferred
