SUMMARY
The Software Developer - RPG codes, tests, and supports IBM i-series (AS400) applications and related technologies and frameworks. As a developer you will participate in all aspects of the software development process including analysis and design, coding, testing, quality assurance, and deployment. You may develop for all application tiers (presentation, business, and database).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, unit test and implement IBM i-series (AS400) applications
• Write and maintain technical documentation and tests throughout the project life cycle
• Design integration solutions to other systems, API's, and applications
• Develop architecture and detailed designs based on product and system requirements
• Communicate designs and development issues to peers and stakeholders

SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred
• Experience architecting, building, and deploying IBM i-series (AS400) applications; experience with IBM i 6.1 is preferred
• Experience with RPG, RPG-ILE, SQL, OS/400, DB2/400
• Knowledge of Source Entry Utility (SEU) & Screen Design Aid (SDA)
• Experience with other development languages such as Java
• Experience as an AS400 administrator is a big plus
• Knowledge of IBM MQ Series
• Knowledge of GUMBO Spoolmail, Reports, and Spool-a-Matic preferred
• Knowledge of web and application Servers and building thin-client solutions
• Proven abilities in researching, learning, and applying new technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
