Quality Assurance Analyst - Capital Markets IT  

Contract

The Quality Assurance Analyst in the Capital Markets IT team will be supporting the overall Capital Markets suite of applications. The individual will be required to perform quality checks such as SIT/IST, facilitate UAT, provide metrics, manage QC setup, provide QA reports and follow the process/procedures in alignment with QA procedures for varied types of work requests. The individual is required to work with business partners, project managers, business analysts, and the AD team to help execute QA strategy/plans for varied work request types, handle QA communication and QA reporting, ensure compliance to the QA process, provide metrics such as defect tracking/reporting, etc. QA team members are required to facilitate UAT issue verification and participate with the business analysts for UAT issue resolution etc. This individual will have ownership to quality of overall product delivery by defining thorough QA plans, test scripts, test beds utilizing overall QA strategy and plans defined for a given particular initiative/s. Quality checks include functional behaviors and non-functional expectations of the deliverables and be able to meet required timelines in completing of the QA required steps. The individual will be responsible to contribute to inputs such as work estimates working with varied members of the Quality team for varied work requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform core QA functions for key SDLC phase of Test including performing SIT/IST tests, defining test scripts/data, provide reports and communicate to business and AD teams on progress of QA in a timely fashion
  • Perform QA within Capital Markets for its suite of applications
  • Maintain QC or similar tool for test progress/report/metrics
  • Responsible for overall quality of the deliverable meets customer requirements
  • Responsible for customer communication such release notes and managing implementation of Quality Center for varied book of work items within Capital Markets
The individual should have demonstrated progressive experience in area of Quality Assurance, Audit & Control performing hands-on roles such as defining test scripts, test data and developed automation scripts. Knowledge in the Mortgage industry and/or exposure to Secondary Markets/Capital Markets domain will be desired & preferred. The successful applicant will possess the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent with relevant experience
  • 6-7 years of experience as a QA analyst in Mortgage or related domain
  • Hands-on skills in writing test scripts, defining test data, creating automation scripts and performing core QA functions such as SIT/IST testing and validations for both functional and non functional behaviors
  • 3-4 years of experience with Quality Center or similar tools
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Java, C#, and Unix Scripting (Born, Korn, C shells, etc)
  • Exposure to state of art tools and technology in implementing QA automation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experienced in performing QA role including writing test scripts, defining test data, write automation scripts
  • Experienced in utilizing Quality Center or similar tools
  • Experience in domain knowledge of Secondary/Capital Markets in Mortgage industry is preferred
  • Experience in participating to defining standards, artifacts in area of QA area is preferred
  • Experience/functional knowledge of Market Data Services like Bloomberg, Reuters related to Mortgages is a plus (eg MBS Prices)
  • Experience/functional Knowledge of Mortgage Industry Standards like MISMO is a huge plus
  • Experience with Accounting Standards (FAS 107), Mortgage Cash Flows is a plus
  • Experience in performing Quality Analysts role for applications under Java/J2EE
