QA Analyst  

Contract
Our client in the Des Moines area has an immediate need for a contract QA Analyst. The project is a very large web application consisting of over 300 JSP pages. The application is complex and has a somewhat long learning curve requiring new team members 3-6 months of on-the-job learning before they can work independently. The application currently has no automated testing in place and our client would like to bring someone in with a strong background in automated testing using Selenium. The tests will be part of the migration to Java; so the individual will also need to know the Java programming language and be an excellent communicator. The company will need to rely on this person to learn the application from us and teach the automated testing techniques to us. This contract position is budgeted through the end of the year.

QA Analyst Qualifications:
  • Previous testing experience
  • Selenium IDE and RC
  • Java (the company expects automated tests in Selenium to be converted to Java and run in a testing framework), HTML, and SQL
  • Excellent communication and ability to train others
  • Quick learner
Preferences:
  • JavaScript, RAD or Eclipse
  • Previous testing experience on a large scale Web application
Bonus:
  • JQuery
  • Experience building test suites on an existing Web application with no existing automated tests currently in place
  • Jinkens (previously known as Hudson), Perl, and Linux experience
