Program Director - Surgical Technician - Surgical Technician Instructor

What you need for this position:
* AS/BS in Surgical Technology or Documented Hospital/Military-based training programs
* 3 years clinical OR 2 years faculty (both within last 5 years) CST
* 2 years teaching surgical technician courses
* 2 years supervisory experience, preferable instructors
* 2 years Surgical Technician experience
* 2 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred.
* Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

What you'll be doing:
* Responsibilities generally include fiscal and budgetary management, human resource administration, facilities and resource management, development and implementation of operational procedures, and special projects.
* Recommends the selection of texts and other instructional support material.
* Provides current information on activities within the department, including assignments made to instructors, class size and any recommendations that need to be included or excluded in future quarters.
* Assists the Academic Dean with the recruitment, selection, direction and evaluation of instructors within the department.
* Directs, evaluates and preserves outcomes assessment in the department.
* Assists Career Services in advising and/or placement of students.
* Assists the Admissions Department in recruiting new students, including the development and the securing of presentations to be given to the high schools by the Admissions Department.
* Interviews, advises, registers and orients department students.
* Attends College functions, meetings, student orientations, in-service sessions, and graduation.
* Serves on assigned committees and Chairs an Advisory Board in developing timely and appropriate curricula.
* Administers program externship, as applicable, and maintains written documentation.
