Production Scheduler

Key Accountabilities:
Identify and implement new processes to streamline current day to day activities.
Schedule Manufacturing Support Areas - including Plastics, Cabinets, Paints, and other fabrication areas.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives in the facility evaluating the use of technology to tie the scheduling system to the shop floor.
Analyzes and plans material requirements by determining the quantity of and date by which materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.
Prepares operations schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
Responsible for key metrics: schedule actualization, safety, inventory levels (in dollars and days of supply/inventory), and obsolescence.
Serve as a backup for other production schedulers/material coordinators/master scheduler.
In-depth understanding of manufacturing constraints and supply chain impacts to evaluate and actualize proposed schedule changes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain process documentation and work instructions.
Maintain communication with manufacturing floor on a daily basis.

Position Competencies:
BS Degree with 3-5 years experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
System experience with an MRP system and strong understanding of MRP and APS fundamentals.
MS Excel/Access.
APS/CSCP Supply Chain certification desired.
SAP experience would be a plus.
Lean/Six Sigma skills and/or training, or experience working in a Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing environment is a plus.
Ability to challenge current processes to identify waste and drive improvements
Supervisory experience desired.
