Product Support Engineer needed for a top Networking company - Networking, TCP/IP, Routers, Linux, Network Access Control, Network Security
Based in Cupertino, CA, we are a leader in the Network Access Control space and Intrusion Prevention products. Our customers are primarily Network, Security and System Administrators within Fortune-1000 enterprises. As the company's front face with these technical customers, you too will be expected to be technical and motivated to interpret complex software and network problems that span across multiple client and server platforms.
Due to growth, we are looking to hire for an experienced Sr. Product Support Engineer. The job of a Sr. Product Support Engineer is responsible for representing the Support Organization to our customers. The Sr. Product Support Engineer is responsible for assessing product support issues in accordance to best practices. Debugging and analysis is performed via the telephone as well as electronically. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical and investigative skills. Must be motivated to interpret complex software problems that span across multiple client and server platforms.
Responsibilities Ensure customer response SLA's are maintained Maintain trouble ticket system to track customer correspondence Work with other support engineers to solve complex software issues Assist in training development and delivery as part of the global service activities Participate in the product's Beta support effort Generate and review knowledgebase articles. Engage with customers for training and general information exchange Build and maintain an expert-level of product knowledge
Skills: - Minimally 3-5 years of expert knowledge of TCP/IP and network terminology and architecture.
- High level knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating systems
- Experience with tools such as Nmap, Nessus, and tcpdump
- 5 years enterprise network administrator experience
- 2 years enterprise network security experience.
- Analytical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritize work orders while maintaining customer SLA's
- Knowledge of security standards and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of Scripting
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (only 5-10%)
- Security industry certifications such as CISSP preferred.
