POSITION DESCRIPTION Marketing/Sales Product Line Strategy & Implementation Line Manager
Seeking a product and channel oriented marketing or sales person interested in taking first line responsibility for traditional building materials systems as well as newer, more advanced building materials systems. Do you want to be in a true marketing position to learn and manage an existing product line as well as a new product line? Can you work with a sales force to develop and implement competitive advantages for a world-wide specialty construction products manufacturer?
The Associate Product Manager will work with and learn from an existing product manager, with growth potential to progress into a full Product Manager and beyond. This position does not have to do with conventional marketing. The ideal applicant will have experience in building materials product management, marketing to the product's core audience: builders, contractor, architects, etc. To succeed in this position, you must: -have high initiative to design your own workload to create and exploit competitive advantage, -be able to execute product and sales programs from the top level down to the tactical level making sure the details all get executed, and -be able to lead teams within marketing as well as cross-functionally to manage and implement the strategic direction and tactics for the product line, including communications, promotions, pricing, new product development, profitability anaylsis and line trimming.
Experience: undergraduate degree in Marketing, Architecture, or related engineering 2 - 5 years experience is one or more of the following areas: -Marketing for consumer or b to b products -Product sales experience -Designing or doing engineer work for residential or commercial construction
Skills: Ability to manage products through a design and development project management protocol. Ability to work cross functionally externally and internally to perform all aspects of project management for the segment of the business. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
