Job Responsibilities/Department Description:

The department of Bioprocess Engineering is responsible for developing and utilizing new systems, sensors, equipment, process technologies, and platforms to enable Genzyme to better understand, monitor, control, and plan its manufacturing operations. This group is highly cross functional in its interactions across research, business units and manufacturing. The successful candidate will ensure that the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance are maintained in the workplace and operate under the regulatory requirements for product development and manufacturing.

The Data Analytics Engineer will work closely with their manager on a wide range of projects across Genzyme's global manufacturing network including:
Maintaining, improving, and utilizing process databases and data analysis tools
Modeling and troubleshooting large scale manufacturing processes (including cell culture, chromatography, filtration, and lyophilization systems)
Supporting process scale-up and technology transfer efforts across multiple sites

Many projects will be as part of diverse, cross-functional teams so strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
MS in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or BS with 2+ years of experience in statistics and advanced process data analysis. Must have experience with Access, SQL and programming.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Matlab, HTML, VB/ASP.NET, IIS is preferred.
