Patient Dining Associate  


Under the general supervision of the Unit Coordinator, provides direct meal service to patients/visitors of all ages.

  • Assignments and responsibilities consist of the following: Assists with the food preparation, heating, unit loading, tray assembly and sanitation.
  • Provides food service delivery of trays to patients/visitors.
  • Maintains inventory to ensure work area is stocked with adequate food and supplies.
  • Assures quality in patient/visitor meal service.
  • Demonstrates a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the workplace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak English, and follow written and oral instructions normally acquired through a high school education.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, preparation, and storage preferred
  • Able to generate computerized menus, tray tickets and inventory.
  • Ability to distinguish colors to utilize color coded dating system.

Required Length and Type of Experience

  • One year of experience in a customer service environment required.
  • Food Service experience preferred.

Required Physical

  • Typical physical demands require ability to lift and carry food products and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work with both hands.
  • Requires extensive standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in an environment with temperature changes
  • Hearing to normal range

Able to withstand exposure to chemicals for the purpose of cleaning and sanitizing
