Outdoor Service Technician

This position will be located in the Lexington, Ky area.

Service Technicians make up over 75% of our staff, and with a fleet of over 800 service vehicles, we can meet our customers' needs anytime and anywhere.

Responsible for the installation of lamps, ballasts, and other lighting components in various outdoor fixtures including parking lot lighting, security lighting, and signs (including neon) for a varied customer base. Should also be able to troubleshoot minor electrical problems within these types of fixtures. This person will be required to work outdoors on various equipment normally up to 55'. This could vary depending on the particular job requirements. They must also be willing to travel out of town as required by the work. Individual must be able to work independently and complete assignments in a responsible and timely manner. Individual must also complete paperwork or computer input timely and accurately. Individual is required to work within the SLS Six Point Safety Program and to maintain his/her truck and/or storage shed in a neat and organized fashion.

Requirements:

Basic qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. One to two years of previous outdoor lighting/electrical/mechanical experience required. JOURNEYMAN 01 LICENSE REQUIRED. Previous experience with sign lighting and neon a definite plus. Electrical licensing where required by state or local codes. Previous experience on a bucket truck or ladder truck is required. Good organizational and communication skills a must with prior computer skills a plus. Must be able to pass DOT certification. Must be able to pass DOT certification and meet the SLS safety weight limit of 280 lbs.
