This exciting opportunity is designed for students in the Optical Engineering area of study. The paid internship will start late May 2011 and will provide you with an introduction to defining consistent design and test methodologies for Opticial Engineers to use during feasibility and production design phases. This interhsip offers the opportunity to work on the introduction of LED components as a technical solution to provide to our customer-specific light signatures, such as those found with the German vehicles including Audi A4, VW Passat, BMW X3, or Mercedes S-Class.
You will work alongside talented engineers and scientists and receive hands-on job experience focusing on the follow areas:-Develop optical efficiency calculation macros of LED Optical Systems: introduction of LED in front signal lighting (turn indicator or day running light), in rear lighting (fog or backup functions), or in low beam function.-Realize a part of photometry testing of products currently in validation during this internship period (LED array characterization in integral sphere, umen output measurements of headlamp or rear lamp).-Assist with optical simulations.
Requirements:Must be currently enrolled in an accredited institution pursuing a bachelor's level degree in an engineering discipline. Must be have authorization to work in the United States.
