Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Reports To: VP of Engineering

Position Summary:
Responsible for the mechanical design, development, testing, and analysis of electro-mechanical gauges used for measuring and recording high pressure and temperature in oil wells. Provide technical support for Manufacturing and Sales as needed with new and current product lines.

Responsibilities:
Analyze requirements from Sales/customers and develop design solutions using detailed CAD solid models, engineering calculations, and material analysis. Present ideas through design reviews, documentation, and assembly prints. Direct staff to build and test prototypes of products. Conduct and validate designs through lab and field testing. Ensure a smooth transition from design concept to mass production in Manufacturing by writing detailed procedures, working through pre-production orders, and holding training as necessary. Keep current on new developments in mechanical technology and techniques. Support sustaining projects of existing products. Coordinate design solutions with vendors and customers regarding fit, form and function. Provide excellent customer service by interfacing with Sales and customers. Understand the product development life cycle to plan and implement new products while upgrading current products Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Sales to support new product development, design, testing and revisions.

Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering3 to 5 years demonstrated mechanical design experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment) with pressure vessels2D and 3D CAD expertise required (Solid Edge preferred) Oil field experience in downhole tools a plus

Skills:
Analytical, detailed, personable, industrious Ability to plan required project tasks to hit critical target dates Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Experience using equipment for pressure, temperature and vibration testing a plus MS Office expertise, including MS Project.
