Manufacturing Manager

Title: Manufacturing Manager

Summary:
Provides vision, leadership, guidance and direction to manufacturing operations, facilitating a partnership between manufacturing, quality assurance, production control, purchasing and pre-production planning. Provides strong leadership toward achievement of continuous higher performance levels to meet the company's operational and financial goals and customer expectations.

Requirements:
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers representatives, employees regulators.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Solid technical skills and understanding of machinery and shop floor/industry terminology. Experience/exposure to manufacturing scheduling. Solid understanding of and experience with JIT and lean manufacturing techniques and philosophies. Excellent situational leadership skills, including supporting excellence through personal actions, behavior, high standards and quality in all endeavors. Professional demeanor and presence, firm but fair and willing/able to exercise praise and disciplinary actions when appropriate or necessary, clear and concise communicator with active listening skills. Must have strong work ethic and be willing to commit extra time and effort required to achieve success. Well organized, able to prioritize, maintain focus and follow-through. Excellent analytical skills, delegation skills and a thorough understanding of and commitment to participative decision-making and pro-active rather than reactive management methods.

TRAVEL:
Some travel may be required to attend offsite training sessions, customer program reviews or new work reviews at customer sites, lean or benchmarking activities/events at other LMI facilities and participation in corporate reviews at the corporate office or other sites.
