Manager, Product Management  

Contract
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Product Management is the individual who has the primary responsibility for the development, management and enhancement of the core products for the payer market. The Manager, Product Manager must manage the development and release of the core system. The Manager, Product Manager must also elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Act as (Subject Matter Expert) SME for the companies products.
  2. Own, manage and enhance the product over time, as required to meet the needs of the payer market.
  3. Work with the Senior Director, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to document the product's vision.
  4. Complete market analyses to determine opportunities and fit within the market.
  5. Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure product viability.
  6. Create business cases and financial models to support the development of the product.
  7. Assist in responding to RFP requests.
  8. Working with customers and internal resources, develop requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  9. Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely. Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those that must base their work on the requirements. Define nonfunctional requirements. Define technical requirements as they pertain to the product.
  10. Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
  11. Participate in requirements prioritization.
  12. Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents.
  13. Participate in peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications (eg, technical specifications and estimates) to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly.
  14. Assist with the development of the organization's requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools.
  15. Act as a Subject Matter Expert on the product's capabilities for a variety of stakeholders.
  16. Deliver presentations regarding the product to executive management, customers and other audiences, as required.
  17. Leads cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues
  18. Participates, supports, and may lead process improvement activities within the department and company-wide
  19. Back-up to the Sr. Director of Product Management.
  20. Spokesperson for products and solutions at industry shows and conferences
  21. Responsible for the development and maintenance of product enhancement documents, processes and policies
  22. Responsible for Project Management of projects as assigned
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Performs all the duties of a product manager and business analysts on specified products. Completes special projects or other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL:

  • Management of departments, process, and corporate project groups. Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Manage and develop product management processes
  • Ability to present ideas, plans, and product directions to Executives, Customers, and Prospects.
  • Ability to identify processes which can be automated by Monument Systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated ability to write requirement documents according to Monument System's standards
  • Ability to understand and explain products and functionality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Ability to present concepts and Monument System's Product Strategies/Objectives in both company and public forums.

JOB COMPLEXITY:
Performs and manages the work and effort on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Manages process relating to product management. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Customers are primarily external clients and market prospects; also interacts frequently with internal contacts, industry organizations, governmental organizations, and cross-functional teams.

SUPERVISION:
Manages the planning, and processes of xpress product management software requirements development. Provides general and detailed instructions as necessary on new projects or assignments and manages progress to success. Supervises product managers, business analysists, and may supervise product teams for market research, product requirements development, specifications development.

EXPERIENCE:
5 to 10 years of product management and product development life cycle experience in a software environment. Minimum of 4 years of Managed Healthcare experience. Minimum of 2 years experience in Project Management.

SOFTWARE LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent work related experience in applicable field such as business or health administration

Job typically requires up to 50% travel as a percentage of work time
