Job Description
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems develops and supplies leading-edge active safety technologies, air brake charging and control systems and components under the Bendix® brand name for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, buses and other commercial vehicles throughout North America.

We are looking for a Manager Human Resources Operational Support based in our corporate facility Elyria, OH for 18-24 months and then be based in Mexico thereafter.

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Support all product business teams (PBT's) Directors with managing the HR operational activities that are essential between the PBT's and plants involving strategy and tactics to meet overall business needs. The expectation would be that this position would locate to Mexico within 18 months to 2 years to assume a country leadership role in Human Resources.
  • Under the direction of the HR PBT Directors, partner with Human Resources process owners and plant HR Plant Managers to manage, install and customize HR products and services to build HR capability in line and HR function. Provide consulting interventions with plant staffs, as appropriate, to maximize business and team effectiveness.
  • In partnership with plant HR Managers drive company wide business improvements and solutions utilizing company wide systems, processes and procedures for employee relations, human resource planning, talent acquisition, talent development, change management, HR SAP and total rewards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • HR Support between manufacturing sites and the business
  • Strong understanding of plant operational systems, processes and procedures
  • Ensure process discipline, facilitation and execution
  • Support organizational design & workforce effectiveness efforts at manufacturing sites
  • Connect HR objectives with business, plant and financial objectives
  • Provide consultation, feedback and foster open relationships at all levels
  • Conduct project planning & execution
  • Ensure effective communications happen between and among plants and the product business teams (PBT's)
  • Support new plant and organizational start ups
  • Support major processes such as Salary planning, Wage proposals, and Management Resource Review (MRR) in collaboration with HR plant managers

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for plant adherence to HR business processes: Policies & Procedures, Talent Acquisition, International Transfer Processes and Management, Plant MRR, and Performance Management Development Performance Dialogue(DPD)
  • Provide technical support to HR Business Partners for organizational needs including strategy, structure, systems and processes, skills, shared mission, roles/responsibilities, culture and environment
  • Conduct analyses and recommend redesigns for plants and business processes to ensure maximum efficiency, increased effectiveness and lasting impact.
  • Achieves organizational objectives with respect to culture brand, employee performance and customer expectations.
  • In collaboration with the plant HR managers anticipate employee relation's issues and prepare contingencies too proactively address issues.
  • Manages HR service excellence and product quality; ensures employees and processes are being utilized to increase quality of service. Effectively manage the operational transaction activities associated with core HR processes.

  • Form highly effective consultant-based relationships with product business team's client base and Plant organizations
  • Enrich delivery, quality and effectiveness of HR processes, products and services
  • Successfully advise on Employee relations and change management

Required Skills
  • Ability to think strategically and understand business plans, goals, and to relate to those plans in developing HR initiatives and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate influence and inspire at all levels in the organization.
  • Experience working in a Matrix organization structure.
  • Strong bias for action and performance orientation
  • Project Management skills.
  • Working Knowledge of Applicable Federal & State Laws and regulations in the US and Mexico
  • Strong Financial Acumen-applies appropriate cost/benefit principles in deciding best approaches to work
  • Performs appropriate information gathering interventions (in-depth interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc.) to determine organizational issues and needs.
  • PC Proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word )
