We have an immediate opening for a Machining Engineer located in in our Bowling Green, KY manufaturing facility. POSITION SUMMARY: Provide technical support to all areas of the plant in assessment, implementation and maintenance of the machining areas. Assist in formal problem solving activities. Facilitate continuous improvement with tooling design and implementation. Ensure quality of products through engineering and statistical practices to maintain and improve manufacturing process controls. Must be able to work with all plant disciplines, customers and suppliers. Individual needs to be self-motivated, aggressive and able to work well with others. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : - Design and implement tooling changes in the Machining areas of the plant..
- Plans and implement and Preventative Maintenance schedule for all machining processes.
- Responsible for new Product runs to include PPAP.
- Develop, maintain and improve documents in accordance with TS16949 standards
- Assist in the development of process flow diagrams; control plans and inspection, gage and operator instructions
- Interface with suppliers to coordinate action on failure issues on parts and services
- Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : - Provide technical knowledge to the Machining areas as well as all support departments
- Submit various performance reports to facility managers
- Support and adhere to BSFBE HS&E policies and procedures
This list may not be all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Required Skills CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS : - Bachelor's degree and 2+ years experience in the automotive industry or equivalent of combination of education and experience
- 2 years experience with CNC machining
- Experience with TS16949 (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans)
- Knowledge of SPC, DOE, GD&T
- Good computer skills
- Good written and oral communications skills
