Journeyman Electrician

SYLVANIA LIGHTING SERVICES is hiring 2 Electricians to service the Seattle, WA area on 3-6 month assignments that could become permanent positions.

SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS) a subsidiary of OSRAM SYLVANIA, is the industry leader in lighting service and maintenance, employing over 1100 lighting professionals in North America. Service Technicians make up over 75% of our staff, and with a fleet of over 800 service vehicles, we can meet our customers' needs anytime and anywhere.

Responsible for the installation of lamps, ballasts and other lighting components in various types of fixtures for a varied customer base. Should also be able to troubleshoot minor electrical problems within various types of fixtures. This person will be required to work indoors on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts as well as outdoors on a bucket truck to a height up to 41. Must be able to work independently and complete assignments in a responsible and timely manner. Individual must also complete paperwork or computer input timely and accurately. This person normally has additonal skills that allow them to run wire from a previously installed load center to a code approved electrical box and subsequently to a row of fixtures or single fixture. This person may have state approved electrical training, apprenticeship and licensing. Alternatively, this person may be recognized by non state or union affiliations such as NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association), ABC (American Builders and Contractos Assoc) for electrical training, apprenticeship and juridictional licensing.

Requirements:

Basic qualifications:Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. One to two years of previous lighting/electrical/mechanical experience required. Electrical licensing where required by state or local codes. Previous experience on a bucket truck is preferred, but not required. Good organizational and communication skills a must with prior computer skills a plus. Must be able to pass DOT certification and meet the safety weight limit of 280 lbs
