Java OMS/Fix Developer (Order Management System Developer)	Permanent

Enterprise Global Financial Institution located in Midtown in New York City is currently seeking a Order Management System Developer with strong experience in Java, Fix and OMS (Order Management Systems), Any C++ is highly beneficial. Candidate will be part of a team that supports the technology needs for facilitating Electronic trading on many global exchanges. Most of the applications are developed in Java, J2EE, C++, FIX, and Perl, and support Electronic trading, technical on-boarding of clients, reporting, STP, and feeds to middle and Back Office systems. The development team designs and supports the FIX and OMS environments. Requirements o Self motivated, innovative and self starter o Ability to work in a team environment and partner with development and support teams globally o Strong business focus and a clear understanding that technology is the means to achieving business goals. o Ability to learn and assimilate knowledge of proprietary systems quickly o Strong communication skills o Effective partnership skills to work with the business to ensure requirements are captured correctly o Ability to lead projects independently and provide guidance to junior members of the team o Ability to perform in a fast paced environment where time to delivery and/or resolution is critical to protect/increase revenue stream o Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time in a complex environment Technical Requirements o Strong knowledge of OMS concepts o Strong knowledge of the FIX (4.2, 4.4) protocol for Futures electronic trading (buy/sell sides) o Very good o Good Java skills for small to medium development projects. o Familiarity with Unix commands and troubleshooting application performance issues o Familiarity with networking concepts, understanding of TCP/IP concepts o Shell Scripting, Perl Qualifications o Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Math or Sciences o 5+ years of progressive experience in systems and technology, preferably with exposure to financial systems
