In the Inventory Analyst role, responsibilities include managing and improving the performance and productivity of our merchandise assortments. This entails the on-going analysis of the total inventory investment to achieve forecasted sales and management of productive store-level assortments. The Inventory Analyst is responsible for forecasting sales and calculating purchase order quantities for programs and/or core merchandise on a timely basis to meet goals. Additionally, the Analyst reviews actual versus forecasted sales and initiates adjustments to future forecasts to favorably affect replenishments. The Analyst is responsible for initiating re-buying, distribution and stock balancing of assortment merchandise within Open-To-Buy and inventory targets to achieve maximum results and to satisfy customer preferences.
Desired qualifications include a 4 year college degree in business or related field; a minimum of 1 year experience at Sterling Inc. in merchandising/inventory management or a minimum of 1-2 years rebuying/inventory management experience, preferably in retail; excellent analytical background; strong written and verbal communication skills; detail orientation; ability to set priorities; PC experience, preferably using Windows, MS Word, Excel and Business Objects (or some information query tool).
