We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic professional in our Ridgefield, NJ facility:

Health & Safety Associate II

Assist in the implementation and monitoring of company health, safety, and environmental management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations and permits at the site. Submit regulatory reports and permits as required (Form R, RPPR, SPCC, Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports, Community Right To Know, etc.).
Develop policies, standards and procedures and work with management to ensure uniform compliance regarding safety health and environmental issues.
Coordinate reporting, tracking, and trend analysis of workplace incidents, injuries and illnesses as well as environmental incidents. Maintain metrics of facilities' EHS performance, and ensure that performance data is communicated to the facility employees and the corporate environmental, health and safety.
Direct and facilitate the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of required safety, health and environmental programs and processes.
Facilitate the development and maintenance of facility emergency response plans and ensure that all affected employees receive training as needed.
Provide guidance and expertise for all safety, health and environmental training within the facility.
Facilitate and provide guidance and expertise in safety, health and environmental activities such as safety inspections and evaluations and industrial hygiene surveys and assessments, utilizing outside consultants and contractors when necessary.
Work with internal and external organizations to coordinate industrial hygiene, safety, health and environmental audits of the facility. Conduct self-assessments prior to scheduled audits, and take leadership in prioritizing and taking action on audit findings and recommendations.
Provide assistance with the management of workers' compensation and the interaction with physicians and other medical care providers, insurance providers and other outside agencies.
Provide guidance and expertise in conducting safety, health and environmental risk assessments for new or existing processes or equipment.
Facilitate and provide guidance and expertise for the development of a world class safety culture within the facility.
Assist in the management of the hazardous waste program: collection of hazardous waste, central storage area, satellite storage areas, load/unload tank trucks.

Qualifications
BS in environmental engineering, safety or related subject
Minimum 5-7 years of Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment is required
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Excellent presentations skills
Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001) or Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) a plus.
