HPC Senior Systems Administrator

The HPC Senior Systems Administrator provides technical leadership to the systems administrator and associate systems administrators as well as direct contributions on Unix and Linux Workstation and applications
* Collaborates with the business, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to define detailed requirements, assess impact on existing capability, and develops and presents solutions with the aim of creating one global common source.
* Acts as internal consultant, providing technical guidance and business process expertise on projects, and researches strategic planning matters from a technical or business standpoint.
* Develops cross functional impact assessments as it relates to any functional or technical landscape changes/revisions/additions
* Applies a broad knowledge of various technical functions to accurately anticipate organizational impacts.
* Establishes the Operations, Facilities, and Disaster Recovery Services strategy together with the relevant stakeholders. Implements and maintains best practices in the area.
* Develops and maintains an end-to-end vision when designing a solution.
* Provides leadership and direction in Operations, Facilities, and Disaster Recovery Services.
* Serves as the lead technical resource in the oversight, planning, and implementation of Operations, Facilities, and Disaster Recovery Services
* Facilitates the understanding of and utilization of tools that drive the dissemination of information throughout the organization.
* Drives the use of appropriate technologies for the functionality requested by the organization.

* Configures and supports HPC systems and applications, including account administration, system administration, system optimization, and user support.
* Supports server and Workstation installation and support of applications (both user-written and third party/ISV).

Specific CAE Applications to support include:
o Dassault Abaqus
o Altair Hyperworks Suite (Hypermesh, Radioss, Hyperview, etc)
o Ansys Fluent
o Safeworks Fe-Safe
* Implements and manages queue (Sun Grid Engine) systems. Performs HPC and storage system architecture analysis and design.
* Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves HPC/CAE complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, Servers, and applications to meet business needs.
* Coordinates hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with operating policies.
* Recommends resolution to complex matters of significance and coordinates the implementation of the approved course of action.
* Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommends course of action and implements as approved.
* Coordinates testing, upgrades and configuration of system files and services. Ensures changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommends revisions or changes based upon results. Prepares for and prescribes approaches to possible downstream implications.
* Supports CAE and queuing software maintenance updates and hot fixes
* Work with Dana IT as needed in support of user accounts, Back Office applications, server, and network issues.
* Execute data backup and disaster recovery requirements as established in Dana procedures.
* Writes scripts when necessary to improve productivity.
* Perform system analysis, tuning & optimization for local client systems as well as for our server based components.
* Analyze and resolve data corruption and localized performance issues.
* Define and document best practices and oversee user adoption.
* Configures and supports Unix and Linux engineering workstations and applications.
* Support end users and peers in areas of application use, problem solving and training to achieve measurable skill improvement.

Bachelor's Degree, or regional equivalent education required, preferably in a related discipline, such as Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or Business or 8+ years of relevant professional Dana experience. Additional related certifications are a plus. Master's Degree a plus

* 5-7 Years of relevant experience
* 2 Years experience with advanced HPC system administration (SGI preferred)
* 4 Years experience in Unix and Linux administration
* 2 Years experience with advanced CAE software installation/upgrading procedures
* 2 Years file and system maintenance procedures
Language Skills
* English (fluency in reading, writing, and speaking); other language skills desirable
* Hindi a plus

Certifications: MCSA, MCNA, ITIL v3 Foundation
