GRAPHIC DESIGN SPECIALIST II  

Permanent

Summary:

Under the direction of a Facilities Department Manager, assists with coordination of system signage with internal and external project managers, customers and vendors. Assists with signage production and performs signage installations throughout the health system.

Job Responsibilities:

Requires the ability to recognize and resolve problems with substandard signage. Customer service experience is required. Specific experience with signage applications, printing, graphic design, or related practical work experience in a related, production-oriented field is strongly preferred. Fundamental knowledge of and experience with basic hand tools, power tools and basic carpentry skills required. Valid driver's license and auto insurance for local travel; personal vehicle required (mileage is reimbursed). Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Associate's Degree in related field. Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Art/Design, preferred. Knowledge of current graphic design software.

Experience:

Three years of practical experience in computer graphics specific to the field. Two additional years of experience including the production of posters/exhibits, charts, graphs may substitute for the Associate's Degree.

Knowledge of graphic design computer skills and signage applications preferred. Ability to read, write, speak English, and perform basic math skills required. Ability to interpret floor plans as necessary. Must have the ability to communicate with a diverse group of customers at all levels of the organization, as well as external customers. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, have the ability to manage multiple tasks, and be adaptable/flexible to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity and color perception to produce materials on a PC/word processor, normal or corrected vision. Must have the ability to tolerate extensive sitting, frequent walking to all parts of the downtown main campus, and travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations outside of the main campus to install signage.
