Environmental/Safety Representative

OSRAM SYLVANIA is the #1 lighting manufacturer in North America and a worldwide leader in lighting solutions. We are looking for an Environmental/Safety Representative to maintain our excellent safety record.

In this role you will help support the Safety and Environmental Programs for Specialty Products. You will ensure compliance with all OSHA and EPA and State and Federal Regulations. You will effectively and proactively protect the health and safety of Associates, to prevent injuries.

Other responsibilities include:
- Manage the 6-point Safety Program and
- Manage the Chemical - MSDS inventory
- Effectively comply with of all Hillsboro Safety and Environmental Programs
- Development and facilitate EHS training programs and orientations
- Participate in Hillsboro safety teams, monthly safety & housekeeping tours and inspections
- Assist with appropriate corrective actions
- Develop continuous improvement plans for the Hillsboro Safety and Environmental Programs to help us maintain our OSHA VPP star site status
- Work with the local Fire Department and Commissions for plant Life Safety Code Inspections, Evacuation Drills and other permit related needs

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety, Environmental or related field of study
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Ability to provide strong and positive leadership to all associates in the area of EHS
- Available on all shifts to meet with associates and work with supervisors
- Good organizational and presentation skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desired but not required: 2+ years of experience.
