Job Title: Electronic Technician
Reports To: Product Line Manager

Position Summary:
Support and aid engineers in the design and evaluation of complex analog/digital PCB circuit boards used to operate downhole pressure gauges in oil wells. Provide a high level of technical expertise and communication in trouble-shooting, testing, evaluating and repairing gauges.

Responsibilities:
Test complex digital and analog electronic circuitry and components for double sided, multi-layer, through hole and SMT printed circuit boards that measure and record high pressure and temperature data in oil wells. Perform critical failure analysis by identifying, analysing and resolving all circuit design issues by working together with fellow technicians and engineers. Perform total quality testing of Alpha, beta, and final PCB circuits to ensure total performance of hardware, firmware and product software. Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment. Work independently or together with a multi-disciplined team. Perform component level troubleshooting and properly maintain findings in a daily lab notebook. Write ECRs, ECOs, BOMs, test procedures, and manuals as required to properly document products and design changes. Provide technical support as needed to other departments, such as Mechanical Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure the complete commercial success of new products and tool features. Address field issues with customers over the phone and in person, as necessary.

Requirements:
BS in Engineering Technology (BSET) or an AAEE with a minimum of 5 years equivalent experience.5 years of PCB assembly and troubleshooting experience, preferably in an R&D or Test environment. Experience in taking a design from concept through Production as a member of a design team.

Analytical, detailed, personable, creative, productive, organized High quality surface mount, through hole, cables/connectors soldering DMM, frequency generator, oscilloscope, power supply, impedance analyzer Ability to read board PCB layouts and schematics Able to plan required project tasks to hit critical target dates Superior verbal, written, listening and communication skills Talented in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Electrical design software such as Altium or PADS a plus.
