Additional Information Parker Energy Systems has been charged with the development and support of PAT (Parker Advanced Technology) actuators for all of Parker Hannifin. These are actuators that utilize a piezo ceramic to actuate a mechanical amplifier based on both stack and thin wafer piezo technologies. The Piezo actuators provide many advantages over traditional motor or solenoid devices, but do require additional electronics. As a result, the Energy Systems Business Unit is building a core team of electrical expertise to support piezo development throughout Parker Hannifin. This position will present a good opportunity for growth as the core technologies for driving the actuators are developed, proven out, released to production, and refined with future developments. The successful candidate for this job will work with both experienced electronic engineers and mechanical engineers to develop suitable design approaches for piezo actuation electronics.

Responsibilities will include:
Writing and de-bugging firmware Schematic capture, modelling, layout and design of basic circuits Prototyping and testing Research of components and technologies to be used for piezo drive circuits

Requirements:
BSEE or similar degree 3-8 years of experience, with more than 1-2 years of writing code for micro processors Strong understanding of 8 and 16 bit micro processors incorporating analog measurement, PWM generation and common communication protocols. Familiarity with basic lab equipment (soldering, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, meters) Experience writing, and de-bugging firmware code. Self starter, comfortable working independently or working in a team. Passion for new technologies and invention. Familiarity with piezo ceramics is a plus, but is not required.
