Director of Technology, Identity Management & Personalization

Manage the software development staff responsible for development, deployment, and support of software for all sports related Web sites for our client.
Help to define the technology architecture for an identity management & personalization platform; architecture should be open-systems based with well-defined programmable interfaces that enable access to systems information as well as positioning the platform to be expanded in the future as new business requirements emerge.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional team of software developers, product managers, web developers, operations support staff, and QA testers working in a matrixed organizational structure.
Serves as a source of collaboration with other groups to set standards, share information, lead development, and document activities
Oversee the daily activities of Identity Management & Personalization team, including working with other teams to review the support of new and upcoming applications, and providing third-tier support for applications in production.
Work directly with business product development & site operations teams to understand current and upcoming product needs; map requirements to technical capabilities; help prioritize work.
Effective resource management and optimization in support of business needs.
Ensure project/program objectives and deliverables meet schedules and budget, and are delivered with high quality.
Staff, develop, and retain high calibre technical talent.
Establish effective working relationships with the business unit general managers and leadership for the properties supported.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, or related engineering field.
At least ten years demonstrated experience in managing large development teams.
Applied knowledge of software project management methodologies, including Agile
Advanced HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, Flash, XML, XSLT, PERL, Java, JSP, Unix Shell Scripting and a strong foundation in enterprise level Internet technologies.
Detailed knowledge and proven experience building custom, and open source, web application services, in a highly automated and scalable Linux/Unix operating environment.
Knowledge of software development life cycle practices.
Must be able to give direction and leadership in resolving technical direction of complex operational issues.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, both verbally and written.
Excellent interpersonal skills with good strategic thinking.
Ability to manage the growth and career paths of his/her organization.
Ability to collaborate with customers and manage relationships with outside vendors.
Excellent Project Management skills.
Excellent organizational agility.
Participate in technical design reviews with peer teams to ensure production systems will withstand complex scalability. This would include process models and updates to technical documentations.
Technology strategy and awareness of the state of the art, competitive threats, industry trends and directions, that might be applicable to our client's web properties. Drive innovative thinking and smart risktaking, adoption of technology or techniques that drive higher applications platform stability and greater organizational productivity.
