Design Engineer with Program Management Experience

The Advanced Products Business Unit (APBU) of Parker's Composite Sealing Systems (CSS) division is located in North Haven, CT and is seeking a highly motivated professional to help us achieve our growth objectives. At this site, we design, manufacture, and test precision-engineered metal seals for a wide variety of commercial, automotive, aerospace, semicon and industrial markets. APBU has a new opportunity for a results-oriented Design Engineer who wishes to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

POSITION SUMMARY
Analyze, research, and design components or a system of components to develop or improve existing products while reducing cost, enhancing performance, or facilitating manufacturing operations. Designs products or systems of moderate scope and complexity for assigned programs using a variety of engineering principles from mechanical, electrical, packaging, or other engineering disciplines.  Will take customer concept/product from Cradle to grave.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate and manage multi component assemblies.  Take a customer supplied concept/product and coordinates the final design, develop drawings using AutoCAD, define BOMs, and manage RFQ process for final procurement.  Coordinate and perform required tasks for assembly which includes: design and procuring installation tooling, fixtures, inspection gages, hoists and tables for mobility, and a hydraulic test station.
 
Job Requirement: All applicants must have:
- BSME, or related engineering field.   (Must have a 4-year Engineering degree)
- Program Management and Leadership experience 
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in machine and product design
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in manufacturing environment
- Strong skills in understanding product testing, Data Acquisition Systems, and qualification testing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for written procedures, specifications, assembly documentation, corss departmental functions, and working with customers and suppliers
- Prior experience using AutoCAD
