DEPARTMENT MANAGER IV

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for execution of strategic and tactical plans associated with procured services in Materials Management/Supply Chain Management and the distribution of products and materials to and from Cleveland Clinic (CC) facilities. 

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Manages procured services - carrier, courier  (non-lab), mail, linen and laundry vendors deployed throughout CC. Manage and hold Vendors accountable to contractual commitments, oversee key performance indicators, cost and service delivery. Maintains the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationship with internal CC partners, vendor representatives and conduct business according to established Policies, Principles and Guidelines.

Collaborates with appropriate CC Managers and procured services Vendors to identify savings opportunities, meet/exceed savings targets, improve customer service and implement continuous process improvement in each of the responsible areas.

Project management - ability to manage cross-functional team, facilitate value-added meetings to achieve CC and Supply Chain objectives, Goals, Strategy and Mission for each responsible area.

Assists with the development of CC National and International facilities related to managed procured services Vendors.  Manages the evaluation of appropriate technologies, cost, benefits and implementation to ensure best practice evolution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management,  Business Administration, Engineering or a related area. MBA preferred.

Required Length and Type of Experience:
Six years of significant experience of both a technical and leadership variety (at least four years of experience in a leadership role required) including two years of experience in project management preferred in process improvement environment with measurable results. Health care experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
APICS certification highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment. May require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to walk to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech. Ability to clearly communicate by phone and in person. May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
