DC Manager - 1st Shift

JOB TITLE: DISTRIBUTION CTR. MANAGER

REPORTS TO: DISTRIBUTION CENTER MANAGEMENT
WAGE SCALE: SALARY/EXEMPT

SUMMARY: Responsible for an area of the DC such as docks or processing. Responsible for the daily operation of their assigned department by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Makes work assignments to associates
  • Plans daily activity based on work on hand plus anticipated new work
  • Plans staff needs with management and requests new hires and temporary labor as needed
  • Trains associates on current work procedures
  • Answers questions from associates.
  • Handles issues and informs management and/or Human Resources as required
  • Monitors attendance, punctuality, production rates and quality for each associate. Councils and corrects as required
  • Supervises other supervisors and can do job of anyone in department
  • Monitors work flow and backlog and takes appropriate action to Remedy any problems
  • Handles special projects and assignments as needed

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school degree, GED, 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and understand documents such as general correspondence, department reports and office procedures. Ability to speak effectively with employees of the company.

    SUPERVISION: This position directly/indirectly supervises 1-3 salaried and 10-100 hourly employees.
