DB2 DBA requires: DB2 DBA, windows/Unix environments, DB2 for ZOS, UDB/Windows UDB/AIX, DB2 Connect, ZOS JCL, IBM HADR, Windows, AIX Unix, AIX HACMP clustering, Cobol, Korn Shell Scripting,  Database design principals, Database installs, upgrades, troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Required:
- 5 years experience in DB2 on multiple platforms PLUS five (5) years experience in DB2 DBA with advanced understanding of DB2 on the Mainframe PLUS DB2 on Windows/Unix environments.
- 5 years minimum technical experience in each of the following:
- DB2 for ZOS, UDB/Windows UDB/AIX, DB2 Connect, ZOS JCL, IBM HADR.
- Windows, AIX Unix, AIX HACMP clustering, Cobol, Korn Shell Scripting,
- Database design principals, Database installs, upgrades, troubleshooting and performance tuning.

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- DB2 DBA role and responsibilities include administration of DB2/ZOS, DB2/Windows, DB2/Unix and DB2 Connect Mainframe gateways in production and development
environments.
- These responsibilities include database installation, upgrading, patching,
troubleshooting, backup/recovery, monitoring, data loads, object creation and alteration and performance tuning in production and development.
- Production support on weekends and weeknights as deemed necessary. .
- Required to work with end-users, vendors and programmers to model and implement new databases.
- Required to evaluate, recommend, install and support database related tools such as performance monitors or productivity tools.
- Must have excellent communication skills to be able to interact with application
developers and end-users to fully understand their requirements.
- Strong problem solving skills are necessary to resolve production issues and to develop creative solutions for development problems.

EDUCATION:
BS Degree in Computer Science (communication, systems, networks & computer technologies)
