Major trading firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer who will be implementing, supporting and marinating critical database environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a supporting role with development teams to help develop and design database applications, which includes designing test plan, Scripting stored procedures, and tuning of queries.
  • Administration of these environments includes clustering, storage, securing, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage and support current and future database and storage environments and initiatives, and proactively evaluate physical and logical design and architecture of the systems to keep up with the dynamic.
  • Implement database migration from one server to another and synchronize the development/QA/UAT from production environments.
  • Perform database performance and query tuning.
  • Perform logical database design review and physical database implementations and maintain production databases.
  • Perform database backups, restores, log shipping, mirroring and replications, etc.
  • System engineering team on database server installation, configuration and system performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain production databases.

Qualifications:

  • Previous database modelling experience.
  • 3 years of Oracle database administration experience.
  • Must have T-SQL or PL/SQL and Perl or Shell programming experience.
  • Experience working with Oracle APEX highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools; proven ability to troubleshoot at the system level (window or Linux).
  • Strong technical problem solving skills essential.
  • Proven ability to work in an agile, fast paced environment, prioritize multiple task and projects, and efficiency handle pressure and stress.
  • Must be self motivated, possess strong initiative, and be willing to take on new challenges.
  • Must demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly (outside of database technologies) and adapt to different work environments.
  • Strong understanding of and the proven ability to comply with SDLC, source control and change management protocols.
  • Experience with clustering, replication and mirroring a plus SAN knowledge related to database configuration and performance a plus.
  • Working knowledge of other open source RDBMS a plus.
