Cisco Unified Communications Specialist

Precision Resources, a division of the Trimarc Group Inc., is searching for an experienced Cisco Unified Communications Specialist to join their client in Birmingham, Alabama. Initially, this position will support a HUGE project already in progress and will eventually move to another project after its completion. This is a permanent position that is scheduled to start interviewing immediately.Cisco Unified Communications Engineer This position will provide implementation and operational support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity, and Cisco Unity Connection systems. This individual must be experienced using the UC Manager Administration interface and the Unity administration consoles for creating, modifying, and maintaining a Cisco Unified Communications (UC) environment. This individual must be able to use these UC tools to troubleshoot and resolve UC configuration and operational issues in a timely manner. Additionally, Cisco Operations Manager may be used to monitor and administer the Cisco Unified Communications environment and any knowledge and experience of this product will be a plus.Some examples of the daily tasks performed by this position will be: Configuration using UC Manager of a given UC design Device and user configuration and management in UC Manager Addition and configuration of lines, shared lines, and roll over lines Configuration of partitions, calling search spaces, route patterns, and translations Addition of a subscribers and voice mailbox to Unity Troubleshooting of UC design or operational issues and resolutionService request are received via an automated system that is used to record the progress and resolution of all requests. Ability and proficiency in written communications skills is a requirement for this position.Interaction with other technical resources and occasional direct contact with the customer will be required. Good verbal communications skills are therefore necessary for this position.As with any technology the IP Telephony area is constantly changing and evolving. This individual must possess the self-motivation and willingness to take advantage of training opportunities that are offered and available in order to maintain the necessary level of technical proficiency that is required to perform this job.The service provided by this position is covered under an SLA (Service Level Agreement) with the customer with penalties for non-compliance and missed timelines. This individual must be disciplined to work in an environment of changing priorities and shifting workloads to accommodate such SLA's. This includes the ability to follow structured guidelines to identify potential issues and problems in order to adhere to prescribed escalation procedures to insure that higher management is notified and necessary resources are provided.While this position will initially be responsible for supporting a Cisco Unified Communication environment, there is the potential that this could expand to encompass other VoIP systems. A background in data communications and telephony is required for this position. This position requires a minimum of a CCNA-Voice certification. Additional, higher level certifications will be considered in both the selection and salary decisions. This position will on occasion be required to perform other reasonable requests and duties as required by our client.
