We are seeking a strong CSS resource for a contract to hire for our client-(they are a primarily Java/oracle environment) We are looking for someone that can take a functioning prototype and modify the style sheets to support IE6 SP3, in addition to IE7 and IE8 (which should already be working correctly).
Additional pluses- Ability to create CSS sprints and/or Image Maps- Having worked in a dojo environment is preferred- Gauging the usability of new and existing products, and making constructive suggestions for change. Be able to visualize and simplify complex systems The ability to understand client goals/objectives and make recommendations to design/transform the product to meet them. Demonstrated expertise in user research methods Design mockups/wireframes/prototypes of varying fidelity of screens, flows and navigation patterns Conduct usability tests, walkthroughs, and heuristic evaluations to guide design Produce UI specifications developers can use to code Keep up to date with current web trends and UI design best practices. Graphic design, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge is required but is not a core part of the job - this position is about how users understand and interact with our software.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant subject At least 4 years experience in the user experience field as a Interaction Designer/Information Architect. Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills Ability to serve effectively as a bridge between developers, business and subject matter experts.
