Summary: Provides steam and chilled water to support heating/cooling processes. Maintains steam pressure and water levels in boilers.
Job Responsibilities: Regenerates and recharges water conditioning equipment. Starts and stops boiler chiller equipment using electric, pneumatic, Microprocessor controls. Operates boilers, air compressors, turbines, electric pumps. Performs major and minor repairs on central plant equipment. Use tools and test instruments to troubleshoot and correct system problems. Operates automation controls and respond to alarms, change setpoints as required by cooling and heating demands. Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Third Class Stationary Engineer license required.
Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders; requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 + lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs. Requires color acuity sufficient enough to distinguish color coded wiring and piping.
