Business Analyst  

Contract/Permanent
Our client has operations in Olathe, KS and is seeking to fill a 6 month contract-to-hire Business Analyst position.

- Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user and business needs.
- Possesses in-depth expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, a broad and in-depth understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities.
- Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
- Serves as an integral participant in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
- Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
- Educates the IT organization on the strategic direction of the business.
- Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
- Possesses a broad understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring appropriate solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
- Makes recommendations for buy vs. build decision.

WORK EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
- 8 or more years of relevant technical or business work experience.
- Requires mastery-level technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes.

EDUCATION GUIDELINES
- Bachelor?s or Master?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related discipline. Or equivalent work experience.

BREADTH
- Expert/lead professional level role.
- Works with business partners within one or more business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of one or more business areas to resolve highly complex and varied problems through integrated solutions within a broad technical and business context of significant impact.
- Supports several highly complex and/or strategic business processes.
- Recognized expert internally and externally within a discipline(s) and often provides strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services.
- Works on multiple projects as a project team member, and often as a project team leader.
- May coach and/or mentor more junior staff.
