Bilingual Radio Sales Manager Position Summary A national broadcast group seeks a high-calibre sales leader to head up sales for a highly successful Spanish Language Radio Station located in a Midwest market. This Sales Manager will have primary responsibility of overseeing revenue for the station and managing a dedicated sales staff. The Sales Manager will report to the cluster GSM and the cluster VP/GM. This person must be bilingual Spanish/English and have experience managing an advertising sales staff in a similar role. We are looking for a motivated, creative, strategic, solution-oriented leader who can upgrade and manage a growing and successful station. The right candidate must possess a strong desire to win, be an exceptional sales leader, and have a track record of revenue success in similar sized markets or advertising sales environments. Primary Position Responsibilities: - Meets or exceeds all revenue goals.
- Has a thorough knowledge of the radio industry related to inventory, ratings, research, marketing, demographics and the Internet.
- Implements strategic sales plans and leads sales team by communicating both a vision and core values.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and rates.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities of the competition.
- Recruits and trains sellers, handles performance evaluations.
- Develops new business including NTR, online and other non-spot revenue programs.
- Conducts sales staff meetings and builds partnerships internally.
- Coordinates sales activities with other departments.
- Personally handles a select number of accounts.
- Works as a coach, leader and problem solver for sales staff.
Position Requirements Minimum Requirements: - 3 years advertising sales management experience, preferably in radio.
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
- Exposure to Customer Focused Selling preferred.
- Experience with both agency and local direct/retail clients.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, closing, analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Creative, idea-generating, non-transactional sales mentality.
- An exceptionally positive attitude with a relentless "get it done" work ethic.
