Applications Architect, Senior  

Contract
Our State Government client seeks an Applications Architect to perform the following:
  • Work with program management and application development teams in solution building for Longitudinal Data Systems and Race to 'The Top' grant programs
  • Translate requirements documents into technical design documents
  • Review specification and design documents provided by technical teams and vendors
  • Collaboratively define high level solution and blueprint for projects to serve as a basis for work by the technical teams
  • Provide technical leadership to multiple project teams by solving design problems and issues
  • Design scalable data models that perform to expectations
  • Research technical architectures of COTS solutions and evaluate their suitability for integrating into the EOE architecture
  • Research new technologies evaluation and support technical teams in their adoption
  • Establish standards for web services, API, and application design and integration
  • Review code created by technical teams for adherence to standards and best practices
  • Ensure systems enforce data integrity and data quality
  • Translate complex technical terminology, concepts, and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resources staff
  • Develop data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development for building, maintaining, and leveraging the data model, and ensuring integration with agency data standards
  • Provide technical oversight and direction for integrating new technology or new initiatives into the metadata and data standards and structures

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hibernate and Struts
  • Experience designing web services
  • Experience designing Datawarehouse systems, especially with Cognos BI tools
